A stone in Green Mountain Cemetery silently looks down on Boulder Valley.

Just got back from a visit to Passendale. That was the town where John McCray wrote "In Flanders Fields". It was VERY poignant....you can still smell the faint "swimming pool" odor of the gas when the fields are freshly plowed. Canadians lost thirty five men for every square yard of that awful ridge.

And yes, the poppies still blow
between the crosses row on row
